Affiliate & Referral System — Remittance Fee Waivers

Borders includes a built-in remittance affiliate program powered by a fee waiver mechanism. Affiliates earn remittance fee waivers when their referrals complete remittance transactions — a powerful growth loop that incentivizes your users to bring in new customers organically.

Borders handles the fee transfer and reversal logic automatically, including rollback on failed payouts — so your affiliate economics remain accurate at all times. Always ensure you have funds on Stratos Merchant Account to fund Fee Waivers as Stratos will still deduct remittance fees.

Fiat/Crypto Swaps

Funds are swapped automatically via cron job with stratos api. This is a bank level swap and not just a ledger swap. You don't need to manually process swap but can if you disabled auto swap on admin.

Fiat/Crypto Payouts

Payout request must be submitted to stratos for processing via admin, auto payouts is not available as sender and recipient must be reviewed by stratos for fraudulent activities. Customer account is debitted on stratos to fund remittance transaction. Stratos will notify your platform via webhook if payout is successful, failed or requires further information

 

Extra Deposit Options — Maximum Coverage

Default deposit options on Stratos are restricted by currency and user region. Borders solves this by integrating five additional deposit processors — Flutterwave, Paystack, Stripe, PayPal, and Skrill — ensuring your users always have a way to fund their wallets regardless of where they are.

Funds deposited via these processors are automatically transferred from your Stratos merchant account to the customer's wallet. The process is fully automated via cron job, or can be triggered manually from the admin dashboard.

Note: You will need to maintain a funded Stratos merchant account balance to enable instant deposit approvals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a money transmitter license?
Borders operates on top of Stratos Payments, which is a licensed and regulated MSB-friendly infrastructure. Stratos handles the regulatory heavy lifting. You should still consult a legal advisor for your specific jurisdiction.

Is there a monthly fee?
No. Borders is a one-time purchase. Your only ongoing costs are your VPS, Cloudinary storage, and the transaction fees Stratos charges per payment processed.

Can I use this without Stratos?
No. Borders is purpose-built around the Stratos API for effective float management and transaction processing. It will not function with any other payment provider.

Can I white-label the UI completely?
Yes. The source code is fully yours to customize — rebrand, restyle, or extend as needed.

Is KYB (business verification) supported?
Not currently. Borders supports individual KYC only at this time.
